The Main Bearing, this was absolutely dreadful job to remove and as it was also unknown, corroded and in general in a poor state, it was hard to know how to do it.

Patience, heat and a lot of gentle persuasion over a length of time dismantled the whole thing.



1) Old main bearing - rumbles

2) Bearing pot removal - corrosion

3) Main jet housing where bearing pot fits

4) Main drive shaft and old corroded spacer - see 7

6) Main shaft, impellers and worn cutlass sleeve

7) Damage caused by water and oil seals to spacer

8) Engine bearer frame - agricultural

9) Engine bearer mounts on jet intake housing

10) Engine bearer frame removed, now galvanised

11) New (left) and old engine rear mounts
