The Gear Lever or change of thrust lever, over engineered and far too complex, but
I have repaired it and restored it to as near as original as possible. Explanations
later, with better picture organisation, but it can be seen how the unit works for
now. Take a look at the 3rd picture on the right down, this is the gear lever shaft,
not even a truck has one that long or heavy, coming in at 10 feet.
The cost of producing helical gears must have been high. I was a toolmaker and made
them, but for a gear lever ??
